Samsung might break its own rules with the Galaxy S26 series, bringing 4 models together. The Ultra might also be equipped with a next-generation main camera, but the resolution may remain 200 megapixels.
According to OreXDA, the Galaxy S26 series may bring either 3 or 4 models in 2026. It seems the company might launch the Galaxy S26 Edge along with the other three usual models, including the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra.
Galaxy S26 Lineup – ‘Edge’ surprise?
Samsung ushered in a new model strategy with the Galaxy S20 series in 2020. The lineup included three variants: a Base, a Plus, and an Ultra. Since then, the company has been following the same pattern for flagship launches.
In the meantime, Samsung has also brought Fan Edition variants. Following the debut of the main lineup, the company has launched the Galaxy S20 FE, S21 FE, S23 FE, and S24 FE, with S25 FE likely to arrive later this year.
This year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, which brings a slim and lightweight design. The parent models came in February, and the slimmer variant made it to stores in late last month, maintaining a 2-month gap.
Bringing the affordable S26 FE along with main models doesn’t make sense, so the rumor aligns with the possibility of Galaxy S26 Edge joining the main lineup, which would be unveiled in the month of February next year.
Galaxy S26 Ultra Camera
The source also claimed that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might feature a next-generation 200MP camera. The new flagships would be equipped with enhanced Galaxy AI capabilities, which isn’t a surprising input as Samsung is betting much on AI.
A recent leak revealed ISOCELL HP2 reuse in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. If we combine both inputs, it can be determined that the next year’s Ultra flagship may bring an enhanced 200MP HP2 sensor with AI-powered camera improvements.
