WhatsApp now holds over 3 billion active users every month. At the Q1 earnings call, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg shed light on this stunning milestone reached by WhatsApp.
Meta’s collaborative approach played a key role in making WhatsApp a 3 billion user empire. WhatsApp is available across platforms, and cross-platform features make it the foremost resort for messaging.
WhatsApp is also adding AI-powered features and playful skills to make your chats epic. Meta is also actively focusing on the platform to keep it ahead of competing rivals worldwide.
Back in 2014, Facebook (now Meta) acquired WhatsApp for $19 billion. And to date, the platform remains free to use without displaying any kind of advertisements.
“We hope to become the leader over time [in the US messaging market], but we’re in a different position there than we are in most of the rest of the world on WhatsApp.
So I think that the Meta AI app as a standalone is going to be particularly important in the United States to establish leadership in — as the main personal AI that people use.
But we’re going to keep on advancing the experiences across the board in all of these different areas,” Mark Zuckerberg said.
