Samsung’s One UI 8 (Android 16) Beta to release first for Galaxy S25, Z Flip6 and Z Fold6

Samsung has significantly delayed the One UI 7 Beta and Stable rollout for Galaxy devices, but the Android 16-based One UI 8 Beta is likely to release sooner, starting with the Galaxy S25 series, Z Flip6, and Z Fold6.

Google is releasing Android 16 earlier, as compared to previous years. Samsung will also benefit from an early Android release this year, helping it to bring One UI 8 Beta and Stable updates earlier on the Galaxy S25 series, Z Flip6, and Z Fold6.

One UI 8 Beta

Samsung is rumored to launch the One UI 8 Beta next month. Software server suggest that the company is already working on Android 16 development for the most recent flagship phones, with the list including:

1. Galaxy S25 series
2. Galaxy Z Flip6
3. Galaxy Z Fold6

Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen a ton of leaks related to One UI 8. Some users managed to install the internal One UI 8 build on devices including the Galaxy Z Fold6, the Galaxy Z Flip6, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Official One UI 8 Launch

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 with Android 16 pre-installed. The new OS will be tagged with One UI 8 onboard. The Beta Program is expected around the official debut of the software; it could be a little earlier or later.

One UI 8 would bring redesigned apps and appearance enhancements. The upcoming software version would also improve system animations and transition effects, refining the One UI 7 standard built on Android 15.

Android 16 Release Date

Google’s likely to drop the official Android 16 update as soon as June this year. The operating system has reached Platform Stability in March and the second PS build has been released in April, making it nearly Stable.
