If you’ve ever shared files between Android phones, you might’ve used Quick Share, either the Samsung version or Google’s. Both versions have had the same name for a while now, but they still work a bit differently. But that’s about to change.
Google and Samsung are trying to make both apps work more smoothly together. A new update with version 25.23.30 beta in Google Play Services (via AssembleDebug) shows that Google’s Quick Share might soon be able to open Samsung Cloud links directly.
This means that when someone sends you a file from their Samsung phone using Quick Share, you won’t have to open the link in your browser anymore. Instead, it could open right inside Google’s Quick Share app.
At the moment, Samsung Quick Share uploads files to the cloud and sends a temporary download link that works for 48 hours. Usually, when you tap that link, your browser opens and downloads the file. But with this new update, Google’s Quick Share might open the link inside the app itself instead of using the browser.
Testers already got the feature working in early versions. There’s even a backup option to open it in the browser if needed.

This feature is currently under testing and may not work perfectly yet. But once it’s ready, it will help users share files more easily between Samsung and other Android phones.
